Shanan Brinson Munoz, M.D.
Dr. Shanan Munoz is a board certified neurologist who has been treating adults and children over age six for a variety of diseases of the brain and nervous system for 19 years.
She was born in Beaumont, Texas and has lived in several states growing up. She graduated from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) in 1980 and then from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1984. She completed a year of internship in internal Medicine at O.U. College of Medicine in Tulsa and subsequently 3 years of Neurology residency and a year of fellowship in Neurophysiology/Epilepsy at Parkland Hospital/U.T. Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Munoz has special interests in headaches, seizures, ADD, Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. She also is proficient in using Botox, Myobloc, Occipital Nerve Blocks, and trigger point injections for headaches, as well as neck and back pain. She lectures on various neurological topics and is an investigator for several drug studies.
She stays busy with her two boys, and enjoys traveling, camping, fishing, golf, and playing with their pets.
